Guide & Tips for Motto Immortal

Helpful tips to progress faster, spend resources wisely, and avoid common mistakes.
Tip 1
Start on the newest server

If you are just starting, do not spend too much time rerolling on an old server. It is usually better to play on the newest server available.

Server-based events are often tied to the age of the server. If you start on an older server, you may miss early rewards and progression events that help new accounts grow faster. A perfect first summon is less important than starting in the right place.

Tip 2
Push Odyssey as far as you can early on

Odyssey Campaign is not just story content. It is the main progression gate in Motto Immortal. Many important systems, upgrades and game modes are locked behind campaign progress.

If your account feels limited, push Odyssey first. Even a few more chapters can unlock useful features, better rewards or new ways to strengthen your team.

Do not treat campaign as optional. Early on, it is your main path forward.

Tip 3
Use the free Destined swap before Chapter 10-30

The Destined Constellation system is easy to misunderstand. Many players pick one zodiac and forget about it. Early on, that can cost you free rewards.

Before Chapter 10-30, you can swap your Destined setup for free. Each zodiac sign can give first-time folklore and avatar rewards, including gems. This means you can cycle through available signs early, collect the free rewards, and only then settle on the Destined option you actually want.

After that point, be more careful. Free experimentation does not last forever.

Tip 4
Level only your main five heroes

Do not level every hero you pull. Motto Immortal uses a resonance-style system where other heroes can be brought up through your main leveled units.

Early on, focus your experience and gold on five main heroes. If you already leveled extra heroes by mistake, check whether you can reset them and recover resources.

This is one of the easiest ways to avoid wasting progress.

Tip 5
Do not overinvest in basic Zodiac heroes

Basic Zodiac heroes may look important because of the astrology theme, but they are usually not where your best long-term investment goes.

Named heroes have stronger kits, better scaling and more complete roles. Use basic Zodiac units carefully, but do not dump rare resources into them unless you know exactly why you are doing it.

A common beginner mistake is building what looks thematic instead of what actually carries the account.

Tip 6
Build a balanced team, not five damage dealers

A good team needs more than damage. You usually want a mix of frontline durability, damage, healing, buffs, debuffs or control.

If your team dies too fast, adding another damage dealer will not fix the problem. If your damage dealers cannot use their skills safely, you may need better protection or positioning. If fights drag on, you may need buffs, energy control or a stronger carry.

Think about roles, not just rarity.

Tip 7
Use the Wishlist with a plan

Do not fill the Godcall Grove Wishlist with random heroes just because they look cool. Wishlist choices should support your future teams.

Good Wishlist picks are usually heroes that are hard to get, strong in their role, and useful in real team compositions. Before changing your Wishlist, check which team direction you are building and which heroes are actually needed there.

A bad Wishlist does not ruin your account instantly, but it can slow your progress.

Tip 8
Match gear suit with your deity

Gear suit bonuses matter. If the suit type on your gear matches your deity and team plan, the extra stats can make a real difference.

Do not equip gear only by raw power number. Check the suit, the bonuses and how they fit your main heroes. A slightly lower-looking item with the right suit synergy can sometimes be better than a random high-power piece.

Tip 9
Focus your Shrine instead of spreading it everywhere

Shrine bonuses can become very important, but the game does not explain the system very well. A safe approach is to focus on one suit direction instead of spreading upgrades randomly.

If you are unsure, look at the top Shrine builds on your server and compare them. You do not have to copy everything blindly, but it gives you a much better starting point than guessing.

Build around synergy, not random bonuses.

Tip 10
Try changing positions before replacing your team

If you are stuck in Odyssey, do not immediately assume your heroes are bad. Positioning can change a fight.

Move your tank, protect your damage dealers, and test different placements. Some battles are lost because your carry gets focused too early or your support hero stands in the wrong place.

Before spending resources on a new hero, try fixing your formation.

Tip 11
Join an active Mindsea

An active Mindsea gives extra rewards and helps your account grow faster. If your current group is inactive, it may be worth moving.

Idle RPGs reward daily activity, and group events are often a big part of that. A strong active group can give you more value than a small upgrade on one hero.

Tip 12
Save premium currency for meaningful progress

Do not spend gems or premium pulls just because you are bored. Save them for events, important summons, or account upgrades that clearly move you forward.

Motto Immortal gives many small spending temptations. Most of them are not worth draining your currency if you are F2P or low-spend.

The best rule is simple: if the purchase does not help your current team or unlock real progress, skip it.
