One of the biggest rules in Idle Heroes is simple: do not spend important currencies just because you have them.

Heroic Scrolls, Prophet Orbs, Wishing Coins and Starry Gems are much more valuable during events. If you use them randomly, you only get the basic reward. If you save them for a good event, they can help you reach extra milestones, artifact chests, sublimation materials or other rare rewards.

This is why experienced players often skip average events. Skipping does not mean falling behind. In many cases, it is how you prepare for a much better reward later.

A common beginner mistake is upgrading every decent hero. It feels like progress, but it usually creates a weak account with no real carry.

It is better to focus on one important hero and build that hero properly. A strong carry can help you push more content, get better rewards and unlock faster account growth. Five unfinished heroes will usually do less than one well-built hero with the right support.

Before spending food, gold, spirit or other materials, ask yourself: will this hero help my next real progress goal? If not, wait.

In Idle Heroes, the bottleneck is often not the rare hero copy. It is fodder. You need a lot of food heroes to build your main units, and wasting them slows everything down.

Do not build random heroes just because they look useful for a few days. If a hero is not part of your current plan, it may be better to keep the resources for your main carry or future upgrades.

Good accounts are not built by upgrading everything. They are built by choosing what not to upgrade.

Selection chests are powerful because they give you options. Once you open them, that flexibility is gone.

Do not open hero copy chests, artifact chests or rare material chests just because you want an instant upgrade. Wait until you know exactly what you need. This is especially important when you are close to a major hero upgrade, artifact choice or Transcendence plan.

A chest in your bag can still become anything. A wrong choice cannot.

Glorious Relics are easy to waste. Buying a missing hero copy can look tempting, especially when you are close to an upgrade. But in many cases, relics are better saved for long-term value, especially artifacts.

Hero copies become easier to get over time through events, chests, swaps and summons. Strong artifacts are much harder to replace and can stay useful across many game modes.

If you are not sure whether a relic purchase is worth it, the safest move is usually to wait.

New heroes often look exciting, but that does not mean your account needs them. Idle Heroes rewards planning more than hype.

Before switching your build plan, ask three questions:

1. Does this hero solve a real problem for my account?
2. Do I have the copies, food and resources to build it properly?
3. Does this hero work with my current artifacts and support heroes?

If the answer is unclear, do not rush. Many players slow their accounts down by changing direction too often.

A lot of midgame accounts become weaker because they try to build multiple damage dealers too soon. In most cases, one strong main damage dealer with proper support is better than two unfinished damage dealers competing for resources.

Support heroes matter because they help your carry survive, deal more damage or clear specific content. A second damage dealer only helps when your account already has enough resources to support both.

If you are not spending heavily, stay focused.

Gems are not only for daily convenience. They are also needed for events, refreshes, extra attempts and important account upgrades.

Do not drain your gems on every small offer. Keep a reserve so you can react when a strong event appears. Spending gems should move your account toward a real goal, not just make today’s progress feel slightly faster.

If the reward does not help your current plan, skipping is fine.

As your account grows, reset resources become more important. Items like Soul Symbols can matter a lot because they allow you to recover or move invested materials.

Do not waste these resources casually. Before regressing a hero or changing a major build, check whether it fits your long-term plan. A bad reset can create more problems than it solves.

This is especially important for returning players, because newer systems changed the value of some older resources.

Idle Heroes changes over time. Old guides, old tier lists and old hero recommendations can be misleading.

Before choosing a first Transcendence hero, opening rare chests, spending relics, regressing a hero or committing to a new route, check recent Reddit or Discord discussions. The community usually updates routes faster than old articles do.

This does not mean you should copy every comment. But reading current advice can help you avoid outdated mistakes.
