This is why early progression should not be only about farming random gear. Push Campaign as far as your account allows, then use the better resource stages to level and promote your key heroes faster.
If you are stuck, improve your main team, adjust placement, and try again before spending stamina inefficiently.
Before farming EXP Raid or Gold Raid, activate the correct bonus. EXP Bonus and Gold Bonus can make a big difference over time, especially when you are spending a lot of stamina.
Do not waste these bonuses on small runs. Use them when you are ready to farm properly, then spend your stamina during the bonus window.
This is a simple habit, but it saves a lot of resources in the long run.
Summoning in Watcher of Realms is not only about luck. The pity system matters, and banners matter too.
If you spend summons randomly across banners, you may lose the chance to use pity in a smarter way. Before pulling heavily, check what banner is active, what type of summoning currency it uses, and whether the featured heroes actually help your account.
For beginners, this does not mean you should never summon. You need a usable roster to progress. But once you understand banners and pity, your summons become much more valuable.
Some gacha games reward extreme saving from day one. Watcher of Realms is a little different because you need enough heroes to clear stages, handle different lanes, and cover different roles.
If your roster is too weak, saving forever can slow your account. A good beginner banner can be worth pulling on because it gives you more options for Campaign, Gear Raid, Faction Trials and other content.
The key is balance: do not waste summons, but do not starve your account of heroes either.
Do not judge heroes only by rarity. Some Epic and even Rare heroes are useful for a long time because they provide control, rage support, anti-healing or specific stage utility.
Heroes like Marri, Laurel and Thunkles are good examples of units players often keep because they solve real problems. A legendary hero with poor synergy is not always better than a lower-rarity hero with the exact tool a stage needs.
Before using a hero as food, check whether they are used in Gear Raid, Faction Trials, campaign stages or boss content.
At some point, your account will stop progressing because your gear is not good enough. This is normal. Watcher of Realms is heavily gear-driven.
When Campaign, Promotion Raid or boss content becomes difficult, do not only look for a new hero. Look at your gear. Better gear can change your account more than another random summon.
Gear Raid should become one of your main long-term goals because it gives the equipment needed to push harder content.
Gold is limited, and bad gear can drain it quickly. In the early game, upgrading temporary gear to +4 or +8 can be fine because it gives cheap power. But taking bad gear to high upgrade levels is usually a mistake.
Save heavy upgrades for pieces with useful main stats and good substats. If a piece is only a placeholder, treat it like a placeholder.
A lot of new players get stuck not because they lack heroes, but because they spent too much gold upgrading gear they later replace.
For right-side gear pieces like amulets, bangles and rings, percentage main stats are usually much better than flat stats as your heroes grow.
Flat ATK, flat HP and flat DEF can be acceptable very early, especially on low-level heroes. But once your heroes have higher base stats, ATK%, HP% and DEF% scale much better.
Do not keep every flat stat accessory “just in case.” Your gear inventory and gold are both limited.
Battle Power can be misleading. A higher-BP team can still lose if it has the wrong damage type, poor placement, no control, weak healing or bad timing.
Watcher of Realms is closer to a tactical tower-defense RPG than a simple auto-battler. Where you place a hero, when you deploy them, and what role they play can matter more than raw stats.
If you lose a stage, try changing placement before rebuilding your whole team.
A good team needs more than damage. You need defenders to hold lanes, healers to keep the team alive, marksmen or mages for the right damage type, fighters for ground pressure, and support heroes for control or rage effects.
Do not build five damage dealers and expect them to solve every stage. Many stages are designed around specific problems, such as flying enemies, heavy waves, healing enemies or burst damage.
Build heroes because they solve problems, not because their portrait looks strong.
Lord bonuses and faction synergy can be powerful, but they should not make you use bad heroes in important stages.
If you have a strong Lord and enough good heroes from that faction, build around it. If not, use your best available team. A forced synergy team can perform worse than a mixed team with better roles and better gear.
Synergy is good when the heroes are good too.
Skill crystals, awakening materials, top gear pieces and strong artifacts should not be thrown into every new hero you pull.
It is fine to test heroes, but serious investment should go into units that help your account in multiple areas or solve a major progression wall. Before maxing a hero, ask where you will use them: Campaign, Gear Raid, Guild Boss, Arena, Faction Trials or specific raids.
